In May this year, Texas journalist Sara Gonzales picked up an alleged H-1B abuse case by one Nagarjuna Reddy Sakam, who made plenty of hires through his company ‘Great America Technologies’. Gonzales, at that time, knocked on Reddy’s door, and their altercation went viral. Nagarjuna said he was not doing anything illegal, but Gonzales insisted that she had many tips against him. Four months after the first video, Gonzales dropped a follow-up on that video, claiming that Nagarjuna was selling his house and was going back to India. There is, however, no official confirmation of the man going back to India. Gonzales, in her latest video, showed that the house was listed for sale.Gonzales said that after her first video, many whistleblowers contacted her and they said that Nagarjuna did not pay them for months. Nagarjuna’s company is a third-party staffing company that handles H-1B hiring for IT companies.One Indian whistleblower said he paid $6k to $7k to one such consultancy firm in the name of attorney fees and said he was unaware that candidates were not supposed to pay any fee for the H-1B sponsorship. The man said the consultancy promised that they would pay back the money after six months or one year. The man said that, as he was unhappy with the consultancy that originally sponsored him, he came under Nagarjuna’s consultancy. The man said he got to know about Nagarjuna from the Indian community in Frisco.But the issue was the same with Nagarjuna’s consultancy as well. The man said he was not paid for months, and when he asked for his salary, Nagarjuna blocked him. Gonzales pointed out that Nagarjuna took PPP loans to cover payroll, but he was not paying at all.The whistleblower said he learned that after Gonzales’ video, Nagarjuna was not in the US for two months — probably in India. “He came back a few days ago,” the man said.Gonzales again paid a visit to Nagarjuna’s address but could not get any response from Nagarjuna. She believed that the house was being shown for sale, and she also found the listing. In the video, she took out a loudspeaker and announced to the neighborhood that Nagarjuna is an H-1B trafficker. She also put a poster saying ‘Nagarjuna is an H-1B trafficker’ on his lawn.
