Prayagraj: Prayagraj is set to launch six new air-conditioned mini buses this festive season, bringing relief to city commuters. These modern buses will offer state-of-the-art amenities, ensuring a cool, comfortable, and affordable ride for passengers.The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will allocate six AC mini buses to the Prayagraj region in the first phase, following a request for 15 buses. The allocation will be split evenly between the Civil Lines and Mirzapur depots, with three buses each. The Civil Lines depot will operate direct buses from Prayagraj to Gorakhpur, helping manage the heavy rush expected during Navratri. Meanwhile, the Mirzapur depot will deploy buses on the Mirzapur-Lucknow route via Prayagraj, catering to increased pilgrim traffic between Ayodhya and Lucknow during the festival. Regional manager, UPSRTC, Prayagraj, Ravindra Kumar, said, “These six AC mini buses will arrive in Prayagraj before Navratri and their operations will begin immediately. Our goal is to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for passengers during the festive season.”He said the introduction of these AC buses would complement the earlier deployment of 63 regular buses, which strengthened connectivity to rural areas. Now, the focus will be on improving urban connections.To make travel more convenient, tickets for the new AC mini buses will be available online. Passengers can easily book their tickets via UPSTC app.
