Kanpur: Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday said that a healthy woman contributes to building a strong nation. Kovind was addressing the national conference of the Gynecology Committee on Saturday at a city hotel.Addressing the event, Kovind underscored that a mother’s nourishment and guidance gives life, positioning her as the pivot of the nation, family, and humanity. Kovind noted that the Indian govt is working towards safe childbirth through the Ayushman scheme, Janani Kalyan, and efforts to control infant and maternal mortality rates. He also mentioned that breast and cervical cancer are currently emerging as challenges for women in society. He expressed confidence that these issues are being addressed with the help of doctors and govt policies. He added that digital health is acting as a ray of hope in rural areas and that a healthy woman plays an active role in nation-building as an empowered individual.He further stated that the medical profession is a means of public service that shapes generations.
