Kendrapada: Madhusmita Behera, IIC, Badachana police station in Jajpur, was suspended on Saturday following allegations of gross misconduct and negligence in duty. The State Police Headquarters announced that disciplinary proceedings are being considered against her. During the suspension, Behera will be under the supervision of the Jajpur superintendent of police and will receive subsistence allowance and dearness allowance as per Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code. She was accused of illegally detaining Prafulla Sahoo, a medicine shop owner from Katikata Chowk under Nischintakoili police station limits, for three days.
